Hell's Belles

Hell's Belles

Sweet, refreshing and spicy – the best things come together in Hell’s Belles. Habanero shrub provides the perfect amount of heat to complement the honey and spicy homemade ginger syrup. Go light with the habanero shrub, or it could overwhelm the drink.

2 oz Belle Meade Bourbon
.5 oz lemon juice
.25 oz honey
.25 oz ginger syrup
1 dash habanero shrub
1 dash Angostura Bitters

Combine all ingredients in a cocktail shaker filled with ice. Shake well and strain into a rocks glass over a large cube or sphere. Express the oils from a lemon peel over the top of the drink and drop the peel into the drink.

For the ginger syrup, dice and juice one pound of fresh ginger root. Strain and measure the ginger juice. Add an equal amount of sugar to the juice and stir until the sugar is completely dissolved. Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to one month.
